old carpet...yuckHere are some pics of what was done in the last few days. My sister and her boyfriend painted Erin's ceiling Thursday night. My dad and stepmom drove out from Georgia for a visit and we spent 2 days prepping the house for carpet. My dad removed the carpet and padding from the house and then vacuumed up all of the dirt that was under the carpet. Then he sprayed the house. Carrie (stepmom) and I painted the living room by hand since the ceiling is exposed beams. On Saturday, the carpet was put in and it looks great. Once we finish the kitchen, they'll put in the vinyl. I (yes, me) put in the new door hard knobs and a wall sconce that was part of the housewarming gift my dad and stepmom got us. There is still a ton of work to do, but it is nice that everything will be new when we move in.
